"I painted this in early Summer 2008, during low tides in mornings on the bar between Newfort Island and Porthloo Beach. I am fascinated by the patterns left on the sand by the retreating sea. it's almost like a series of frozen small waves. I used the sand I found to give it texture and decorated it with small pieces of seaweed, some real, some painted."
