Painted Autumn 2002 in the early evening. This is one of the quietest corners of St Marys looking North West above Pendrathen Bay . I had to scramble through the brambles to get to it. By the time I visited for the third or fourth time though, there was quite a nest where I had sat. I didn’t see a soul while I was painting this. I was drawn by the chaotic tangle of the gorse, bramble and high pines.
