"Painted in the Spring of 2007. The islands' headmaster at the time lived up Porthloo hill. He was a keen gardener and grew nasturtiums at the bottom of his land on the sea wall. Very kindly he let me sit there to paint and even gave me a lettuce! I think nasturtiums are a great plant, easy to grow you can eat practically all of it and they look pretty! (The seeds can even be used instead of capers). The view across St Marys harbour is pretty too."
