This year, Stephen offered an informal Sketching Morning from 10am until 1pm on Sunday 8th May 2011.
"An informal and relaxed morning out-of-doors (weather permitting!), suitable for beginners, offering participants the opportunity to sketch using an Ink Brush Pen to capture simple impressions of the landscape and surroundings. If weather is inclement, we'll work indoors in the Gallery"
Location: Glandore Gallery, Porthloo, St Marys. Cost £12
Additional information: No need to bring anything - all equipment and materials are provided. Ink brush pens available for purchase afterwards if wanted.
To help us improve the session for the future and gain valuable feedback, we asked participants to fill out a simple feedback form and you can find their comments here: ArtScilly 2011 - Feedback Forms
Please note that, although Stephen offered his sketching morning free in 2010, he was encouraged to join the other artists and craftspeople in charging a small fee for his Sketching Morning in 2011.
2011 also saw the introduction of a new ArtScilly Hub which was located in the seaward facing guest lounge at Tregarthen's Hotel in Hugh Town, St Marys. Manned daily by some of the artists featured in the week's programme as well as other volunteers, it offered an Exhibition of works by a selection of the artists and craftspeople together with information and advice to help visitors make the most of ArtScilly 2011. Sadly it proved to be too much 'off the beaten track' and failed to attract many visitors.
