"At Bants Carn, on the west coast of St Marys are the ruins of a bronze age village set into the hillside which was once at the top of a now flooded valley. I sat here to paint on a series of quiet afternoons in the Autumn of 2008 looking south west towards the Western Isles and the Bishop Rock Light. You can see the walls of the huts and walk inside them, imagining people going about their daily lives there centuries ago. As children we used to play hide and seek amongst the stones - great fun!
